If you’ve done any self-development work, then I’m sure you’re familiar with the phrase “your best self.” Living our best lives and being our best selves is an ongoing process, and we have to start somewhere.
It’s especially important to start this process if your best life includes your soulmate. Focusing on yourself and getting ready to welcome him into your life—yes, I want you to act as if you KNOW that he’s coming soon—means that you will be ready for the joy of a relationship and be confident in your energy and your ability to attract him.
This process is a lot like nurturing a flower. Since its spring, I thought this was the perfect analogy for how we need to do the work to get to where we want to be.
We start our growth process by making a decision to start the work. Click To Tweet- Seed — We start our growth process by making a decision to start the work. This is when we first get the idea to work on ourselves to improve our lives and our chances of finding the right man.
- Sprout — This is our commitment to unpacking layer after layer of beliefs, “truths,” and hurt. To sprout from the seed and break through the soil, the seed needs the right conditions. It needs water and nutrients and warmth. Till spring, the seed lays dormant, waiting for its chance. Women need to burst through the seed coat and soil this spring and start caring for ourselves—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Get your nails done, eat a salad instead of Doritos, and read that book that’s collecting dust. Feed your soul and show yourself you care for and love yourself. When you love yourself, you tell others how to treat you. You also allow others to love you as much as you love you.
- Blossom — Once you have strong roots anchoring you in positive energy and caring for you as only you can do, you will notice yourself blossoming. Much like the spring flowers bursting into bloom, everyone will take notice. A positive, strong woman has control of the parts of her life that she can control. She actively seeks what she wants to add to her life to make it even more amazing. She knows how to set boundaries, say “no,” and embrace her gifts. This is how you achieve your best life.
- Maintenance and watering — Blossoming isn’t the end of the journey. Remember that you need to care for the plant once it has achieved what you want. Making the rituals of self-care a way of life will help you maintain this beautiful new way of living. Just like brushing your teeth, you need to love yourself every day, even if it just means 5 minutes of meditation first thing in the morning. Teach yourself that you are worthy . . . and that you are worthy of maintaining and growing more.
Sometimes it seems like those seeds you plant in the spring take forever to bloom, but it is always worth the wait! You, too, are worth the wait. This is the time to plant the seeds and start transforming your life. Loving yourself means that you can then accept others into your life who will love you the way you want to be loved!
