Everyone is really excited about decluttering this spring, especially after Netflix released Marie Kondo’s show about tidying up. I’m sure your local Target’s shelves are empty after a run on storage bins and organization supplies!
But what does it mean to spring clean your life right now in preparation for a relationship? Let’s look at 3 major spring cleaning things you can do to help attract a man into your life.
- Clean out the closet. You’ve probably heard that you have to make the space for the new things you want in your life. If you want a new car, you’re supposed to clean out the garage and take care of the space so it can welcome that new car. That’s part of manifesting. So how does cleaning out a closet help you get a man? Simple. Getting rid of junk that you don’t need any more—stuff that doesn’t serve you—helps you feel more organized, like a woman who can handle more in her life. Plus, it gives your mind a little support. If you want a man to eventually live with you, you will need to clear out the clutter, either for him to have a closet of his own at your place, or for you to more easily pack what you want for a place the two of you will share. Subtle shifts like this will tell your brain, “Whoa, she’s really serious about making this happen.” And it puts the idea out into the Universe.
- Clean out your bad habits. Stop the self-sabotage! Seriously though, one of the worst habits you can have when you hope to find a man is to avoid being anywhere that he might be. It seems silly, but often, women sabotage their chances of getting a date by staying in whenever their friends invite them out for a drink, only attending women’s networking groups, not getting an online dating profile, and more! The chances of a man falling in your lap are pretty slim. You have to put in a little work on your end. Stop the bad habit of staying in, keeping to yourself and your girlfriends, and staying offline all the time. Give him a chance to find you!
- Clean out the toxic relationships. The friend who’s always bad-mouthing men. The aunt who’s always hooking you up with the wrong guys. The neighbor who always stops to chat and leaves you frazzled after listening to her gossip. This is not the energy that you need in your life if you want to have a positive, long-lasting relationship. Step back and look at the people you talk to each day. Then simply analyze how you feel when you connect with them. Do they build you up? Or tear you down? If it feels like you’re drinking poison every time you’re around them, you really are. Build in space, politely decline your aunt’s suggestions if they are wearing you down, and make an excuse to bypass the negative talk about others. Take that time instead to support the beautiful ideas and dreams that you have, and you will do much better for yourself.
